Histoire d’une chanson : Un livre de poche 

      Cette chanson est née d’une envie de raconter l’histoire d’un homme n’ayant pour échappatoire qu’un simple livre de poche. Lassé de suivre un chemin mal tracé pour lui, lire le projette hors du monde réel. Une chute accidentelle l’amène un jour à rencontrer une infirmière, lui apportant des soins qui se transforment vite en soins amoureux, et plus tard en vie de famille. Malgré cela, son livre redevient vite une drogue nécessaire, lui ouvrant les portes d’une vie rêvée… Alors que l’air principal de cette chanson s’était imposée suite à quelques enchaînements de notes au piano en 2010, la construction de ce morceau n’a cessé d’évoluer au fil des années pour aboutir à la version musicale définitive en 2015. En duo avec Phil, Sandra prête sa voix douce sans artifice, en une seule prise désormais immortalisée. L’environnement marin, à travers notamment quelques scènes prises à St Malo en France, prend sa place dans le clip video, symbolisant la recherche de répits entre chaque moment anxiogène (conduite sur un pont, éboulements, etc…). Enfin, le crapaud aux allures d’extraterrestre qui se manifeste furtivement symbolise l’état d’esprit du protagoniste : Tranquille au premier abord mais enlaidi par son angoisse intérieure…

        This song was born from a desire to tell the story of a man whose only escape was a simple paperback book. Tired of following a path poorly mapped out for him, reading projects him out of the real world. An accidental fall one day leads him to meet a nurse, providing him with care that quickly turns into loving care, and later into family life. Despite this, his book quickly becomes a necessary drug again, opening the doors to a dream life... While the main tune of this song was established following a few sequences of notes on the piano in 2010, the construction of this piece has continued to evolve over the years, culminating in the definitive musical version in 2015. In a duet with Phil, Sandra lends her soft voice without artifice, in a single take now immortalized. The marine environment, notably through some scenes taken in St Malo in France, takes its place in the video clip, symbolizing the search for respite between each moment anxiety-provoking (driving on a bridge, landslides, etc.). Finally, the alien-looking toad which appears furtively symbolizes the protagonist's state of mind: Calm at first glance but made ugly by his inner anguish...
