Le Shining

       Shining est un des films cultes de Kubrick adapté du roman de Stephen King, l'enfant lumière (1977).  Un écrivain, engagé pendant tout l’hiver comme gardien d’un grand hôtel isolé avec son épouse et leur fils, espère surmonter son manque d'inspiration littéraire. Tandis que le jeune fils médium est imprégné de visions de meurtres s’étant déjà produits sur ces lieux, son père est progressivement pris d'une folie meurtrière et s'en prend à sa propre famille. Le don du fils a finalement  permis d’éviter le pire pour sa mère et lui-même.

       Sans ce shining, l’être humain est déjà capable d’anticipation: connaître les événements passés suffisent déjà à anticiper les dangers potentiels et en devenir, à condition d’être cultivé, objectif et rationnel. Nous avons tous cette faculté à ressentir un danger en maturation par la simple connaissance de faits historiques. Pourtant, en toute connaissance de cause, sommes nous capables d’éviter le pire ? Les événements politiques nous démontrent que cela est loin d’être acquis, alors que l’Histoire se répète et qu’il faut sensibiliser inlassablement les plus jeunes aux conséquences des actes du passé. En particulier, la responsabilité des jeunes artistes populaires est aussi d’éviter voire d’empêcher une forme de banalisation de la violence. Il y a encore du chemin à faire et certains rapeurs devraient y méditer… Une juste dose de philanthropie est sans doute une force nécessaire à notre survie en collectivité.

The Shining

       The Shining is one of Kubrick's cult films adapted from Stephen King's novel Child of Light (1977).  A writer, hired throughout the winter as a caretaker of a large isolated hotel with his wife and their son, hopes to overcome his lack of literary inspiration. While the young medium son is imbued with visions of murders that have already occurred on these places, his father is gradually taken by a murderous madness and attacks his own family. The son's gift ultimately made it possible to avoid the worst for his mother and himself.

    Without this shining, human beings are already capable of anticipation: knowing past events is already enough to anticipate potential and future dangers, provided they are cultured, objective and rational. We all have this ability to sense maturing danger through the simple knowledge of historical facts. However, with full knowledge of the facts, are we able to avoid the worst? Political events show us that this is far from being certain, as History repeats itself and we must tirelessly raise awareness among young people of the consequences of past actions. In particular, the responsibility of young popular artists is also to avoid or even prevent a form of trivialization of violence. There is still a way to go and some rap artists should think about it... A fair dose of philanthropy is undoubtedly a necessary force for our survival as a community.
